不再轉動的旋轉木馬 ｜The Carousel No Longer Turns

小時候，台北的圓山兒童育樂中心有一座旋轉木馬。
後來那裡拆了，變成公園，旋轉木馬被留下來，就那樣停在原地，不再轉動。坐過它的孩子都步入中年了，城市越來越亮，世界越來越快——而那座木馬哪兒也沒去。
霓虹的光落在靜止的木馬上。光在流，木馬不動。
時間沒有停。只是有些人，有些東西停了，而我們還得努力在迴圈中找快樂。
2012 - 2024 旋轉木馬與摩天輪系列
When I was little, there was a merry-go-round at the Children’s Recreation Center in Yuanshan, Taipei.
Later, the amusement park was torn down and turned into a park. The merry-go-round was left behind—frozen in place, never to spin again. The children who once rode it have now walked into middle age. The city grows brighter, the world moves faster—yet that merry-go-round has gone nowhere.
Neon lights fall upon the motionless carousel. The lights flow; the wooden horses stay still.
Time hasn't stopped. It's just that some people, and some things, have come to a halt. Meanwhile, the rest of us must keep trying to find joy within our own endless loops.
