The Third International MANGA Award 

 2.   Conditions of Entry (參賽辦法)



(1) The  MANGA  works  (4  or  more  pages)  must  be  produced  in  countries  outside Japan.  Both  published  and  unpublished  works  are  eligible  for  entry.  However, works  which  received  the  First  or  Second  International  MANGA Award  are  not eligible this time. 



作品(4頁或以上)需為日本以外的國家所完成

已出版或未出版的都接受

不接受有在前兩屆中得獎的作品

(2) The works must be submitted in printed form. (參賽作品不得以數位電子檔繳交, 需為列印稿)                                                                                 

 

                                                                                                                                                            

(3) Overseas publishing companies are permitted to apply for the Third International MANGA Award only if they confirm that their MANGA artists consent to their works being submitted.

3.   How to Apply



(1) Application Period

5 December 2008 – 31 January 2009 (entries must arrive by 31 January)

(2) Applications should be sent to either i) or ii) below. (寄到以下任一地址)



i)    P.O.Box 118 The Third International MANGA Award Executive Committee, Tokyo   Toranomon   Building   1F,   Toranomon   1-1-18,  Minato-ku,   Tokyo 105-0001



ii)     Japanese Embassies or Consulates General (See the website for the address.)



Two copies of the works must be submitted. (Additional copies may be requested for works which win the award.)

(4) Please ensure the entry form, filled in either in English or Japanese, is attached to the works. (報名表以英文或日文填寫)

 4.   Return of Works



The submitted works will not be returned to applicants. Therefore, if works have not yet been published, the original should be retained by the artist. We reserve the right to donate submitted works to public organisations. (作品將不退還, 故勿投原稿)



5.   Selection



The  Third  International  MANGA  Award  Evaluation  Committee  is  in  charge  of  the selection procedure.

6.    Prize



(1) The Gold Award of the Third International MANGA Award will be given to the best MANGA and approximately three works of merit will receive the Silver Award.  (金獎一名, 銀獎約3名, Taku Satoh 設計的獎牌見上圖 image source: http://www.mofa.go.jp/policy/culture/manga/trophy.html)



(2) Winners will be invited to Japan for around 10 days for the award ceremony. (得獎者將受邀到日本約10天,出席頒獎典禮)

7. Award Ceremony



The award ceremony will be held in Tokyo in autumn 2009.

紅鼻子的馴鹿與其他

日文課時老師給同學們講解了 "赤鼻のトナカイ"的歌詞

("Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer"/ "紅鼻子的馴鹿")

才知道原來是個蠻勵志又有點搞笑的故事

傳達了天生我才必有用

以及

降低失業率(?)的重要等信息

大意:


馴鹿魯道夫因為它的紅鼻子

而總是被其他馴鹿嘲笑

直到被伯樂-剩蛋老人發掘

雇用它來拉雪橇

認為它(油亮?)的大紅鼻子

可在夜裡閃閃發光

非常有用

後來

它在馴鹿之間就人氣狂飆了

為了參加校內的一個攝影比賽

拍了些照片

然後選出了這３張參賽

雖進了決賽

但最終沒有得獎

學藝不精吧

馬上就有發表活動

對沒什麼水墨畫基礎的我來說

(油畫算算倒是畫了有5年)

實有些倉促

畫了好多張

都不是很滿意

之到最後沒有時間了

才決定選這張去裝框

("3分畫 7分裱" 裱褙裝框對水墨畫特重要)


水墨實在很難駕馭

但也是其有趣之處

台中市第13屆大墩美展

日前去了趟台中參加本屆的大墩美展頒獎典禮

領獎 觀摩得獎作品並順道參觀了國美館和20號倉庫

[推] 展覽「梵谷與夜色」

(這是我大學第一年時用蠟筆臨摹的梵谷畫作-The Night Cafe)

當然主角還是賽車和旗子

畫面盡量以紅色為主

因為是新電信標誌的顏色

Things that Blend in the Night

        LIN Bao Ling’s work, much like the artist himself, gives the impression of longing to disappear into the ether.

        His latest series of paintings is of landscapes at night, that time when hills, trees, buildings and rocks are almost completely hidden by darkness. These hills and buildings are often blended into a kind of misty glow, so they become virtually indistinguishable from each other.

        Lin’s exhibition, called  Nocturne IV is on display at the Marina Mandarin until the end of August. It consists of 27 paintings, all done in a mixture of oil and acrylic, produced during the six months that Lin was artist-in residence at the hotel. Many of them are scenes of Singapore’s Little Guilin Area.

The paintings continue to deal with the idea of illumination within a chosen landscape. The landscapes are mostly silhouettes, its form in darkness are mostly mysterious and distant. The light source that appears within its darkness is always ‘just enough’ to illuminate. It is this spread of light with colour that is distinctive in Bao Lings paintings of a nocturnal matter. The area of light and radiation is always in conversation with the surrounding darkness, it is not just a matter of positive and negative compositional play, but there are subtle shifts between degrees of light from object matter to object matter. In Bao ling’s landscapes, there is never total darkness, but always a hint of light buried and spreading.  It is specified by the titles that the paintings narrate enigmatic nocturnal portrayals of time, but it also reminds me of the beginning as well as the end of time. Bao Ling’s paintings are meditations on dark light, within it, lies illumination that is like a longing for hope.

世界漫畫大獎賽 (the 3rd Morning International Manga Competition)

主辦：日本講談社《週刊morning》雜誌



作品大徵集



截止日期 2008年9月30日（以當地郵戳為准）



大獎賽設一等獎1名，獎勵5000美金，二等獎2名，各獎勵2000美金。 另外，獲得一等獎的作品將刊登在每週發行50萬部的日本最受歡迎的青年週刊漫畫雜誌《MORNING》，或特刊《MORNING 2》上。之後，還將由《MORNING》的優秀編輯擔任主編來協助製作得獎者的漫畫創作。而且，對獲大獎後的得獎者的作品也有可能得以刊登在《MORNING》或《MORNING 2》、或者以單行本的形式在日本和其他國家發行。（不過，一等獎也有可能空缺）



Submissions for the 3rd Morning International Manga Competition are now being accepted.

The deadline is September 30th,2008.

Professional artists are also welcome to this competition.

Besides manga, we accept all types of comics,

including superhero comics, cartoons, and bandes dessine´es and so on.

Grand prize: US $5000, two second prizes of US $2000 each

Nocturne Series 2007

[畫作介紹文] Chopin, Delacroix and Bao Ling

In Chopin's "Nocturnos" there is a fluid, romantic, historical pregnancy, a sort of revolutionary "Beauty" and "Light". Invisible conflict of light and dark, playfulness of raindrops in the night, colored contrasts. Through abstract tones images and forms emerge, lit emotive that like butterflies fly in the wind. 

Maybe that is why there is a similarity of application of color between Chopin and his friend Delacroix, and tone and dynamics of Lin Bao-Ling's newest works. There is a certain historical turn, a gentle revolution.

If these are the tipping points in the similarities which connect him to the European tradition, then the composition of the painting is similar to the Chinese vertical. That is, semi abstract tones of dark and light distributed through the vertical with an accent on the reflection of the narrative not the narrative itself. This shift of action is one of the main qualities of his work. Something like El Greco's "Toledo" in the dark but under the city lights.

The lack of physical presence of figures in Bao-Lings paintings does not mean their absence. The generators of light (and sometime dark) hide behind the light and the dark. The vibration of the scene anticipates the human involvement. The makers of fireworks don’t sleep at night. We don’t see them but we know for sure that in his paintings no one sleeps, even us as the viewers, it is total insomnia.

Bao ­ Ling has enriched and armed his pallet with mostly monochrome contrast and beautifully painted surfaces. The association to the old Masters and the forgotten preoccupation with aesthetics brings us back to the times of candles and natural light.

Consciously, with light and dark he covers the city, the cars, the civilization, the progress, the restaurants, boats, trains...and only reflections of this civilization emerge covered in bright, sparkling lights. Like shooting stars, frozen on the canvas. 

I am not sure if Lin Bao ­Ling heard Chopin's "Nocturnos" was working on his midnight scenes. And maybe he was not thinking about El Greco and Goya. But it so happens that he blurred our vision, troubled our water and left to some past time, leaving us by ourselves, sleepless.

The question now is when and how will Lin Bao ­ Ling finish his "Nocturno" and when this "Drunken night" will end-and the sun will go up. It seems like never, because Bao ­ Ling has loved that space and atmosphere for many years, since his study years at LASALLE. And in it he feels like the master of ceremony. Like an explorer who discovers and a magician who hides.

在路旁演唱

我是她們唯一的觀眾

但

感覺不到她們有絲毫的氣餒沮喪

她們

對音樂的熱愛

親切的態度

臉上的笑容

動聽的歌聲

令人難忘

令人感動



一般人都會感到很受挫吧

就像日前我在新加坡的鬧市街頭

遇到的那個年輕音樂人那樣

同樣的情況

我是唯一的觀眾

他表情看來很不悅

演出時間未完

就提前結束

毫不理會我這個觀眾


3年多過去

Aeka好像蠻紅了

剛去她的官網已改版

變的很專業

她也已發了幾張專輯

個人造型也有了些變化

讓我不禁懷疑了一下

這個Aeka是不是那個Aeka 阿

但

一聽到那溫暖的歌聲

就知道錯不了


蠻替她高興的


努力的人

一步步地實現夢想


很美
