A Year After is an exhibition showcasing paintings produced by six emerging artists. This exhibition embodies development and progress of each individual artists upon their completion after their graduation about one year ago. Artworks produced for this exhibition will showcase paintings of mixed media and single media executions.  From abstract to representational works, this group of six aims to bring forward each of their individual approach in art making as a gesture of thoughts on subjects that they find alluring to garner audiences.

Viewers will get a glimpse of Tay Lay Leng's misty and emotion-packed semi-abstract landscape paintings which she finds inspiring from her personal interaction with nature that fed her interest with it's elements.

Jase Lim's objectives of soothing and calming the mind, coupled with her interest to induce contemplation to her viewers are presented in her abstract paintings influenced by the tranquillity she senses at lotus ponds and her belief that
art can influence humanity to a greater benefit.

Dicky Hamid's interest in abstract layering, mildly spray paint envelopes layers upon layers of watercolor on paper which includes his surrealistic and metaphysical approach in making his abstract works produces images that he hopes will evoke a range of emotions in his viewers.

Fazrullah'
s interest in painting urban landscapes was portrayed in a way, to him, a made picture can be used to give  viewers a ‘mimic similarity’ of a first chapter to a book without a title or an ending.

Yukari Uno infused mixed media works in order to share some of her childhood memories of playing in the natural landscape.

Arnewaty's repetitive ‘pattern-making’ with layer after layer of semi-transparent paint-filled brush strokes, brings out interesting visual anomalies, which resulted her works into
‘imagery representations.'

All artists are graduates of LASALLE College Of The Arts.

Gallery opening hours are from 11am – 6pm (Tuesdays to Saturdays)

Closed on Sundays, Mondays and Public Holidays
