CapitaLand has recently launched a website showcasing works from its collection, and it happens to feature two of my paintings from many years ago. It truly brought back a lot of memories.

Nocturne In Yellow and Brown

"As its title suggests, this painting is executed in yellow and brown and it depicts an urban scene perhaps on a wet night. The nocturne is a free form of music that emerged during the Romantic era and was made famous by Chopin. Later, American artist James Abbott McNeill Whistler adopted the name of Nocturne for his works of dreamy night scenes. This painting of Lin, with an emphasis on the beauty and harmony of colours, reminds us of this tradition."

《黃色與棕色的夜曲》

「如其標題所示，這幅畫以黃色與棕色為主調，描繪了一個可能發生在潮濕夜晚的都市景象。『夜曲』是一種在浪漫主義時期興起的自由形式音樂，並因蕭邦而廣為人知。其後，美國藝術家惠斯勒也將『夜曲』一詞用於他那些充滿夢幻氛圍的夜景作品。林的這幅畫，強調色彩之美與和諧，使人聯想到這一藝術傳統。」
