文／Rachael YoungLin Bao Ling's proficiency with a paintbrush interplays light and dark to dramatic contrast. Fragmented shards of colour appear blinding from within these dark landscapes, perhaps to be considered flashes of hope emerging from desolate environments. What is striking about Lin's work is his ability to convey personal sentiments towards urban life, to an extent illustrating his inner turmoil. As a viewer you feel both the push and pull, the bright lights tinged with a haunting appeal.
