塵三先生受到了美國「抽象表現主義」的影響，所以拋棄一切形式、摒除造型的構圖法，或噴、灑、滴、甩、皺、擦、拓、印等技巧，以表達其內心反映。運用多媒材、改良技法的構圖技巧，發展為半抽象式的中國山水。從少年時代便接觸中國文化，包括水墨畫、篆刻、八大、石濤的寫意精神，近年即使選擇壓克力、油畫創作，畫面始終蘊含濃厚的中國傳統水墨意趣和美學精神。

藝術家塵三是一個樂與自然對話的人，對話對象不是樹不是花，而是來自宇宙的聲音，認真傾聽這樣的聲音，才能達到畫面與意境的合一。也唯有在這樣寧靜的心，才能專注發展出物體的形與色，這樣的過程可以比喻為打坐冥想的過程，因此很自然地將這樣的美學觀與東方藝術的精神性做聯想。

大自然是陳顯棟老師創作的主要題材，這個大自然並非一般，而是充滿人性的大自然。站在畫作前，我們會感到一種溫暖的生活親切感，會情不自禁地發出一種感恩的喟嘆：〝啊，活著多麼美好啊！〞，車爾尼雪夫斯基的美學定義：〝生活即美〞的真正含意就在於此！

有如城市幻影的構圖與特殊多元媒材創作，試圖表現出城市黑暗與光明交互更迭、相生相剋、流轉不停、稍縱即逝的無常，看似模糊的景象，其實是畫家另種心靈表達的手法，在水光幻影當中，葆靈已藉夜裡的光和暗穿越過這座都市叢林，通往未來的道路。

Fresh artist Lin Bao-ling: drawing out the beauty of cities Lin Bao-ling, 30, is a young artist famous in Taiwan as well as places like Singapore and New York for his creative approach to presenting the beauty of urban landscapes. Lin has been described as a "talented" young artist who specializes in portraying the shining lights of cities at night in a semi-abstract way, as well as the beauty of scenes after rain, to present the splendid and dramatic lighting of night in the city. Lin is widely respected among critics and the public for his deeply touching sensitivity. Lin's parents allowed their children to develop freely, always encouraging Lin to pursue his interest in painting.
