新電信(SingTel)委託林葆靈畫一幅F1 賽車的畫作 (這是草圖之一)

2008 年，新加坡電信（Singtel）委託我創作一幅以2008 Singapore Grand Prix（新加坡大獎賽）為主題的畫作。這場比賽不僅是 Formula 1 首度在新加坡舉辦，也是 Formula 1 歷史上第一場夜間賽（Formula 1’s First Night Race）。

In 2008, Singtel commissioned me to create a painting inspired by the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix. The race was not only the first Formula 1 Grand Prix ever held in Singapore, but also Formula 1’s first-ever night race. 

完成的原作由 Singtel 收藏，另外製作數百件有我親簽的畫布複製品，作為 2008 Singapore Grand Prix VIP 貴賓紀念品。

The original painting was acquired by Singtel. In addition, several hundred canvas reproductions, each personally signed by me, were produced as commemorative gifts for VIP guests attending the 2008 Singapore Grand Prix.

由於我剛好長期創作夜景畫，因此幸運受邀為這場史上第一場 Formula 1 夜間賽創作委託畫作。

Since my artistic practice had long focused on nightscape paintings, I was fortunate to be invited to create a commissioned artwork for Formula 1’s historic first-ever night race.

這是名為「Timmy」的 F1 模擬器。 它完全按照真實 F1 賽車的比例打造，讓一般人也能大致體驗駕駛 Formula 1 賽車時的高速感。 操作方式有點像一般電玩中心的賽車遊戲，不過真實感高上許多。當撞上障礙物時，模擬器也會隨之震動。 聽說有些人體驗後甚至會感到暈眩。 

This is an F1 simulator called “Timmy.” It is built to the exact scale of a real Formula 1 car, allowing people to experience, to some extent, the sensation of driving an F1 car at extreme speed. It is similar to the racing simulators you might find in an arcade, but much more realistic. The simulator moves and vibrates when the car crashes or hits something. Some people even feel dizzy after driving it.

30 分鐘的駕駛體驗中，我已經不記得自己撞上護欄多少次了—— 而且還一直開往反方向。 哈哈哈。

During my 30-minute session, I lost count of how many times I crashed into the barriers — and I kept driving in the wrong direction! Haha.
